Our preparing boards are manufactured directly in our company. The sturdy boards are made of beech wood up to 27mm thick. The main working surface is filled with a generously poured surface of epoxide resin. The surface is attractively marbled in a colour mix of milky white and bright red. The corners of the worktop and the beech wood are rounded inwards in a vintage style.
An epoxy surface can be safely wiped down with a damp to wet cloth to clean it up again. This may not sound like much, but unlike an ordinary wooden work surface, the epoxy coating provides some protection in the process:
Because wood is a living and working raw material that expands and contracts according to room temperature and humidity, fine hairline cracks that cannot be seen by the eye can appear in the lacquer after prolonged use. Due to its water-repellent properties, the epoxy surface protects the wood in these places from discolouration by molasses. In addition, it prevents the penetration of moisture, which can damage the lacquer and the wood over a longer period of time.
