Multi-hole hookah bowls - Egyptian hookah bowls

Multi-hole bowls or Egyptian bowls are tobacco bowls that can be found in any well-stocked hookah shop. The multi-hole bowl has largely become THE standard tobacco bowl for hookahs. Next to untreated clay tobacco bowls, the fully glazed Chinaheads were among the most sold multi-hole bowls. Even today, they are often added to small-format hookahs as a standard bowl.

What a multi-hole bowl offers

A multi-hole bowl is often made of clay or ceramic and has between 4 and 8 holes in the bottom of the tobacco depot. The bowls come in different varieties. The surface can be natural, completely or partially glazed.

Some multi-hole bowls, such as those from KS Appo or even our own Kaya tobacco bowls, are evenly curved inwards so that they can be used in combination with a tobacco sieve.

Advantages of a multi-hole bowl

Because these bowls are the standard model par excellence, they are available in all kinds of materials and price ranges. Many tobacco bowls are specially shaped to suit distance set-ups with a chimney.
In particular, the models that have room for an insert sieve can improve the taste and the smoking behaviour because tobacco residues do not clog the holes thanks to the sieve and thus block the air flow. With such a design, the bowls are also well suited for use with vapour stones.
